Are Ants a problem on your Hummingbird Feeders?
Ants are attracted to the same food that hummingbirds like. This makes it difficult for your hummingbirds to feed safely.
Not only do ants steal the sugar water, but they can also contaminate it – which discourages hummingbirds from using that feeder.
Do not use any petroleum-based products, such as Vaseline or any oils on your feeders.
These products can get on your little Hummers and prevent them from flying and can even be deadly to our precious little birds.
One of the best ways to keep ants out of hummingbird feeders is to use an ant moat, guard or trap.
You can either get a hummingbird feeder with a built-in ant moat, attach a guard or moat to your existing feeder or make your own.
These are my new favorite ant moats and Amazon has a 2 pack you can receive in just a few days.
I have used these for several years and they do not fade quickly and are not only easy to use, but they work great.
No more ants.
Plus as a bonus they are quite pretty hanging above the feeders in My Hummer Garden.
Here is a quick link to the moats I use on Amazon. Just Click on Shop Now!
